Show Notes
0:00: Justin and Helen return, and wish everyone a Happy New Year before talking about the episode number of this podcast. (Or was it after they wished a Happy New Year?)

News
51:33: The TPP Copyright laws was enacted December 31 in Japan. How big it will be we don’t completely know, but Ken Akamatsu stepped in to assure it won’t be quite that stringent.
53:16: One of the big stories this year is the apology by Maho Yamaguchi of NGT48 for speaking out about getting assaulted by two men back in December. Yes, that was a thing that happened. At the time of this recording this was all we knew and the protest regarding the situation. Since then:
- NGT48 management held a conference and apologized to fans and members.
- The group manager resigned and a committee was formed to investigate the members’ actions.
- A number of events and ads involving NGT48 have been cancelled since then. And chances are this story is far, far from being over.
