Show Notes
0:00: Helen has been too busy doing work from home stuff (and life stuff) to watch much aside from Winter anime season shows, so Justin talks about everything he’s been up to, from reading a ballet manga to more of Syalis’ sleeping tales in the demon castle, and he even watched an anime from a season he mostly skipped: After School Dice Club.
More COVID-19 News
3:22: Jun Mochizuki announced that The Case Study of Vanitas will have to go on hiatus due to the pandemic. Justin and Helen suspect (and it’s essentially happening now) that there will be more creators that will have to delay their works.
4:18: As many are attempting to adjust their schedules, so’s the manga publishers in the US. A number of them have started delaying their titles, or at least pushing them out of this month and most of May and/or June.
12:55: Back in Japan, there’s a number of voice actors that are in trouble financially due to events and work being delayed or cancelled, and Helen and Justin talk about the problems they’re facing.
News
15:10: Tiger & Bunny is coming back!…Though Helen has some questions about it, which also includes which companies are gonna be in the anime. Justin, meanwhile, had no idea.
Licenses
16:29: VIZ picked a day and shared they will bring over a Super Mario manga, a legendary edition box set of The Legend of Zelda, and their first VIZ Originals title, Fangirl.
18:22: A TV station actually announced that Kengo Hanazawa’s Under Ninja will be published officially in multiple languages. This is the part where Justin’s baseless speculation on who has it begins again!
Winter Anime 2020 Season Thoughts
19:44: The two hosts talk about the recently wrapped up Winter anime season, which includes a number of titles they both watched (Chihayafuru Season 3, BOFURI, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!) and stuff they watched on their own (New Orphen, Infinite Dendrogram, Magia Record). Justin also gives one shout out to a long running show that ended its run, GeGeGe no Kitaro.
Weird News
54:04: Inosuke ended up donating 100 masks to a nursery school. As in, the character from Demon Slayer did it. Some person really went out and donned an Inosuke mask…
55:59: Did not expect John McClane Bruce Willis to appear in an ad in Japan, but he did as Doraemon. Welp.
