Show Notes
0:00: In this week’s episode of TheOASG Podcast, Helen discovers Justin has only two things on his mind: work and Fire Emblem (he too, also found a way to call Path of Radiance a sequel! That’s wrong!). She also has been busy as well, but has found time to check out Carole & Tuesday and watch Harukana Receive…in the gym. She soon discovers a problem watching that show at the gym…
News
15:00: One of the biggest news announcements over the past month is that Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle is getting an anime. This will only make Justin and Helen hope everyone else give the series a read and learn important sleeping techniques.
18:01: Rie Kugimiya will make her first U.S. appearance at Anime NYC! Which means Justin needs to find a way to talk to Kagura and ask how the Gintama anime is going ask about her making her first trip to a U.S con!
21:46: The New York Times Bestseller list for graphic novels is back! It’s all in one, so now it’ll be time to see how much My Hero Academia dominates the list, or if their methods differ from the rest.
Licenses
26:00: Spy x Family is now on Shonen Jump! (As expected, they also announced they’ll be releasing it in print at NYCC today) This leads to both hosts hoping this will eventually happen to Blue Flag.
28:40: Seven Seas had 5 yuri announcements and a Ghost Ship announcement that’s so lewd that even Chris Beveridge had concerns about it! Well, sorta!:
- Fragtime
- Adachi and Shimamura light novel series
- Goodbye, My Rose Garden
- Failed Princesses
- Syrup manga anthology
- Welcome to Succubus High! (Ghost Ship)
31:26: Mai Mai Miracle will be released on BD from Rightstuf. Helen has…a take on it.
Summer Anime Season final thoughts!
32:44: Justin and Helen give their last thoughts on the summer season, ranging from Helen’s spicy take on Vinland Saga, to Justin’s reaction (at 54:18) when he realizes one trait involving Schaal was not in the to your Abandoned Sacred Beasts anime, to Helen’s new name for the Lord El Melloi II’s Case Files (at 1:01:00) anime set in Fate but not…necessarily involving the Fate series in a way…a decent amount of anime is discussed in this section. And both wonder if they think the ending to Granbelm (at 1:11:22) actually stuck…
Weird news
1:26:13: Can also consider this cool news as well — It’s been revealed that Keisuke Itagaki and Paru Itagaki are father/daughter. Helen guesses why this happened now.
