Show Notes
0:00: Justin and Helen start talking about what they’ve been up to over the past few weeks. One of the hosts has been spending time with Yona of the Dawn while the other has been reading a lot of light novels…just not for review!
Main Topic: Fall Anime 2021 Leftovers!
10:10: That’s right, Fall Anime 2021 still had some shows that didn’t air just yet, so the two hosts go over the leftovers, from Ancient Girls Frame to Ranking of Kings.
News
27:44: Unfortunate news: Christopher Ayres, known as the voice of Frieza, has passed away.
29:35: The continued manga boom is turning right into the continued manga titles going out of stock over this past year, and lots of companies have been experiencing issues. DENPA can argue they’ve been affected the most, and went onto Twitter to explain what’s been happening with them. Justin and Helen discuss this and expand this to how the industry is being affected in general.

40:15: Yen Press has announced they’ve licensed Honami Shirono’s I Want to Be a Wall & Yama Wayama’s Let’s Go Karaoke!; they are also simulpubbing Nakatani Nio’s God Bless the Mistaken starting…Tuesday!
41:20: Usamaru Furuya’s back! One Peace Books is bringing The Music of Marie next Spring.
43:09: Sentai, as expected, has licensed the sequel to Kakegurui, so more anime getting out of Netflix jail!
Streaming News
44:08: The biggest news out of everything this episode is Disney+…expanding into anime! That’s right…Justin would’ve been better off keeping his mouth shut about this (43:05 of Episode 93):
- Black Rock Shooter Dawn Fall
- Summer Time Rendering
- Yojohan Time Machine Blues (Tatami Time Machine Blues)
- Twisted Wonderland
The two hosts discuss this major news, who’s affected (Definitely Sentai), who should feel bad (Hi Amazon Strike!), who will be next to jump in (Apple TV), while Justin continues to expose his own self on his comments over a year ago.
58:35: The Gravitation TV and OVA series are now on Crunchyroll; Mamoru Hosoda’s BELLE will stream in theaters in January; and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind and Kuroko’s Basketball: Last Game will stream on Netflix in November.
59:30: And in final streaming news for the episode, the Macross Plus movie will air in theaters December 14…which is confusing Helen due to the availability of this movie and who’s actually releasing it.
Weird News
1:03:30: All of a sudden companies and creatives are getting into NFTs…the explosion has grown over the past couple weeks, which lead to Justin and Helen already preparing for someone or something they like to get into it. There is someone over in Japan explaining why some artists have been trying this out, not realizing however that there are a host of issues with NFTs.
1:07:25: For some reason, TOKYOPOP Germany is translating the English version of light novels into their language instead of actually translating it from the Japanese. The two hosts talk about the issues of them doing that.
1:13:27: Keiichi Arawi is bringing Nichijou back!…Kodansha/Vertical is probably gonna have to remove the complete part if they put that on their box set.
1:14:52: Bleacher Report crossing over Naruto with the NBA suggests anime is kinda mainstream.
1:16:23: Meanwhile, we have an American figure skater bringing Attack on Titan to their routine!
1:17:31: Satoru is back in Japan!…in a mobile game. Satoru, better known of course as Rimuru, crossed over with the Index series recently.
1:18:27: And finally…the two hosts have no idea why TOKYOPOP is partnering with Cracker Barrel, but they are as Disney’s Nightmare Before Christmas will be stocked there.
