Pandemic News

Streaming News

25:44: Surprisingly, Amazon Prime Video is going to be streaming Evangelion: 3.0+1.01: Thrice Upon A Time August 13. It will even be dubbed, and this leaves Justin and Helen confused…for reasons involving how did Amazon pick this up.

31:42: Crunchyroll added a bunch of Sgt. Frog to its catalog

32:06: Meanwhile, Funimation’s expanded their streaming availability to a few other countries.

Main Topic: Spring Anime Season 2021 Final Thoughts

32:56: Justin and Helen give their thoughts on the Spring Anime Season and the shows they ended up watching to the end. For the most part (see. So I’m a Spider, So What and Shadows House, whose final episodes air tomorrow).

That said, the two hosts had to give their final thoughts to a Winter Anime 2021 show that had its last episode air in the summer: Wonder Egg Priority (at 34:05). Needless to say, the hosts are conflicted. Especially with how the last episode went down.

After that, they discuss their seasonal favorites (From Fruits Basket, 86, Shadows House) to their worst titles (Osamake, Backflip!!) to a few surprises (Super Cub, Back Arrow) to shows that could’ve done better (Justin, unfortunately, stares at So I’m a Spider, So What. This also appears to be another show that ran into problems during its run.)

Weird News

1:45:17: During this part of the podcast Justin noted that Seven Seas finally kicked off their licensing tweet storm.

1:45:27: It took only one chapter for the Kakegurui writer’s isekai revenge manga to get cancelled. The two hosts talk about this unusual situation.

1:46:50: Gintama: The Very Final film got licensed by Eleven Arts, making it possible there will be four different dub casts for this series.

1:49:05: One of the former Philippine presidents passed away, but during the cremation, a Gundam Seed OST was being played during it.

1:50:15: The finale of Zombie Land Saga Revenge did not have a commercial break, which is a rare occurrence for sure.

1:51:00: Someone tried to record the latest Detective Conan film in the theaters. You can guess how that went.

1:52:34: Made in Abyss has been optioned for Hollywood, which has the internet extremely concerned.

1:54:38: Peach Boy Riverside aired yesterday, but there was some people confused about it. Then it later comes out that it’s being aired out of chronological order. Meanwhile you can watch it normally on an exclusive service.
