While August may bring to mind the dog days of summer, it also means that schooltime is just around the corner — and in some areas, school may have already started! For those of you who want to show off your love of anime to your schoolmates/coworkers, give a little back-to-school gift, or just want to add a little dash of anime in your own home, take a look at the list below!
Crunchyroll Bananya Kids’ Backpack – $14.99 at Target
The little kitten who lives in the banana is all over this cute backpack. Target also sells matching lunchboxes to go with it. Unlike a lot of the items listed here, this is something you may be able to pick up at local store if you want to avoid shipping charges or need it in a hurry.
Shipping is free on $35+ or choose free store pickup.
Dragon Ball Z Bento Box – $16.90 at Box Lunch/Hot Topic
Out of the anime bento boxes sold at major retailers, this seems to be one of the few that snap shut instead of having a wrap-around. Both have their advantages and disadvantages of course. With this Dragon Ball Z set, feed yourself lunch in this bento set and send your energy up to over 9000. This set is sold at both Box Lunch and Hot Topic, so you can compare which is the better deal.

Durarara!! Group File Folder (Pack of 5) – $5.09 at eKnight Media
Everyone needs to store some paperwork now and then. Let the chibi characters of Durarara!! hold your papers with these folders. eKnight Media has other choices as well with varying prices, but pay attention to whether it’s a single pocket or document folder or a basic multipack like this one.
Shipping is free on $40+.
Guilty Crown: Yuzuhina Lunch Bag – $9.99 at eKnight Media
Guilty Crown is a mature series, so it shouldn’t be that surprising that this lunchbox is racy. However, if you don’t mind that fact (or perhaps really like Yuzuhina’s scantily clad body), this anime lunch bag is one of the cheapest I’ve found.
Shipping is free on $40+.
Kuroko’s Basketball: Group Binder – $5.29 at eKnight Media
Like the other items I listed from eKnight Media, they have a good selection of binders. But this Kuroko’s Basketball is a nice sporty choice that is perfect for all ages.
My Hero Academia Pop-Up Laundry Bag – $13.52 at Hot Topic
Be a hero and get your laundry up from off the floor! By carrying all your dirty clothes to the washing machine, maybe you’ll get muscles as big as All Might’s. But if you already have a container for dirty clothes, consider using this bag to store your anime plushies, blankets, winter hats, or other soft merchandise that you’ll want to pull out now and then.
Sumikko Gurashi 24 Pack Colored Pencils – $8.97 at Barnes & Noble
For those art projects you will have, this set of colored pencils comes in an adorable tin. The inside cover lists all the colors and has a different design of the characters. Like the Bananyan backpack, you may be able to grab a set of these colored pencils today at your local store.

Super Mario “Trifecta Fun” Kids Sheet Set – $11.25 at Walmart
While the description labels this set for kids, Mario is fun for all ages. Just look at the faces of Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi! These sheets will be just a little too short if you’re heading off to college in a dorm room with a twin xl bed, so check with your school before you buy. For those of you who do have a twin bed, this is a good price for licensed sheets.
