The OASG Podcast

Show Notes

0:00: Justin and Helen return from whatever work or school hole they’re in to talk about…yeah how work and school has been ALL FUN!

Also Justin did manage to read Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, which is getting an anime at some point in the near future.

News

6:10: The Netflix Cowboy Bebop live-action casting has been announced. Well, the first round at least. Andddd….this has been met with praise?

7:45: High-Rise Invasion, which was expected to end, is gonna get a sequel. Justin can only hope Seven Seas will also release the sequel in the near future. It’s likely gonna be a while.

10:37: The prototype version of One Piece that was included in the Wanted short story collection will be getting an anime in the near future. Justin at least thinks that’s pretty cool.

Licensing News

12:21: Yen Press happened to be the only company in the past couple weeks to announce anything! (well, until Seven Seas, J-Novel Club, and likely more companies since Sakuracon is this weekend made announcements this week; that’ll be covered in the next podcast) They’ve licensed the following:

  • The Witch’s Printing Office
  • Overlord: Undead King Oh!
  • Kemono Friends a la Carte
  • A Mysterious Job Called Oda Nobunaga (LN)
  • Suppose a Kid From the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town (LN)
  • World’s Strongest Rearguard: Labyrinth Country & Dungeon Seekers (LN)
  • The Greatest Mao Is Reborn to Get Friends (LN)
  • Your Name. The Official Guide.

Main Topic

16:31: The spring anime season has begun! You can catch Neomo’s thoughts for the next couple months with his column, and in this episode, Justin and Helen share the following shows they’re watching (From Fruits Basket to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) to ones they’re considering (Fairy Gone for Justin) to…shows that’s been dropped already??? (Helen looks at AfterLost’s premiere episode with disdain).

The two also talk about that Ikuhara butts/kappa show that absolutely zero people are watching. Big fat zero.

Weird News

55:55: Märchen Mädchen…despite literally everything going wrong with it…is finally going to finish next week! From egregious production issues to delays, this winter anime is finally gonna finish this spring. We think.

56:34: Doesn’t actually belong in the weird news section but due to how busy Justin is it slipped his mind — the latest Detective Conan film MIGHT actually get an overseas release?
